Katherine Schulman is a Senior Associate with VitalizeVC, where she spends her time sourcing potential deals and running the diligence process for the fund. Prior to joining VitalizeVC in the spring of 2018, she had a fellowship with M25, an early-stage venture fund investing in Midwest companies. She has also worked with the Clean Energy Trust, a clean-tech venture fund, and the Hatchery, a food startup incubator. Prior to working in venture, Katherine was in New York for almost 10 years, first as an undergrad, and then working for various non-profits. She spent several years with the Earth Institute at Columbia University, raising money as part of both the major gifts and annual fund teams for various projects ranging from large, UN-backed programs like the Millennium Development Project to specific applications of scientific research. Her expertise revolves around clean tech and tech-for-good, and financing options for both for-profit and non-profit endeavors. Katherine received her BA in Comparative Politics from Barnard College and her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In her spare time she loves running, boxing, and baking like a mad scientist.
