Irish Wallets Open for Chicago Startups


IrishAngels is one of several alumni-affiliated investment groups that have become important sources of startup capital in Chicago.  The two-year old group of individual investors who are University of Notre Dame alums invested $1 million in three companies during the third quarter of 2014. Investments included Chicago-based UpCity and HearHere Radio and St. Louis-based Coolfire Solutions.

Eyelation has received $1.3 million in funding.  IrishAngels led the round with participation fromDallas Venture Partners and various individual angel investors.  In conjunction with the funding, Jordan Curnes, IrishAngels’ director, will join Eyelation’s board.  Based in Tinley Park, Illinois, Eyelation is a provider of prescription safety eyewar to employees at manufacturing facilities.
